In the beginning, House of Mercy was so small. Chris and Russell asked the congregation for musical guest artists and at the time I was training classically. I didn’t have a background in country gospel and I didn’t know any of the hymns we sang or the bands everyone loved. Still, I decided to give it a shot and I told them I wanted to be a guest artist. I think it took a year or more before they agreed to have me sing. It was Dead Can Dance; maybe Emmeleia or Song of Sophia. I’ve gone to House of Mercy since the very first service. My life and my world would not be the same had I not crossed paths with Russell & Debbie so many years ago. I have met and worked with incredible people through House of Mercy and I’m infinitely grateful for the inspiring relationships and creations we’ve built together. I look forward to singing for you on Sunday.
