Back in the 90’s, John Magnuson was in a Minneapolis honky-tonk trio called the Carpetbaggers. John was the middle guy in that band. Rhythm guitar player, singer, writer of songs. These days, John performs in a different trio – the cleverly named John Magnuson Trio. On this late-January evening, the trio (Magnuson on guitar, Paul McFarland on bass, John Sandbo on the snare) will perform songs John has written over the course of the last 20 years or so. It’s a career-spanning repertoire, without the career. (As yet.)
