Change of plans–after consulting the weather forecast, Urim and Thummim, and each other, we have decided to pivot our 2026 group camping experience to a shorter day camp experience.
Join fellow HoM’rs for a day of fun at Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Preserve in Lino Lakes – All are welcome. Pack a lunch and come for all or part of the day!
Approximate schedule as follows:
Morning: Wargo Nature Center surrounding trails, & outdoor play area
- 9:30-ish Nature Center time
- 10:30-ish short hike & nature scavenger hunt
- 11:30-ish Arts & Crafts. Bring your own cotton t-shirt/pillowcase/bandana/etc to tie dye, knot a friendship bracelet, and more
Interlude (Lunch): Picnic Pavilions or Lawn area adjacent to Centerville Lake
Afternoon: Centerville Lake Beach
- 1:30 or so onwards: Beach, BYO Boat, Sandcastle building, playground, & solar oven “stone soup” & more.
- Have an activity you’d like to share with the group–please bring it along!
- Bring a handful of fruit to roast in the solar oven, and we’ll use it to top an afternoon dessert to close our time together
