Incarnation & Apocalypse an Advent-ish Climate Crisis Bible Study
12/4, 12/11, 12/18, & 1/8/20 • Wed. 7pm • House of Mercy
Apocalypse from the Greek apokalypsis, literally means pulling back a veil to reveal something. What does the story of God coming into the world reveal to us about our action and interaction with the created world? Is radical mercy built into the created world?
Each week we will consider a biblical text and excerpt from a contemporary writing as our guides in wrestling with these ideas.

part of our:
Creation/Apocalypse: A Climate Crisis Lectionary
For millennia people of faith have been grappling with the beginning of creation and the end of the world. Never has this exploration seemed more consequential than in light of our current reality.
This liturgical year House of Mercy will look at texts from Genesis to Revelation that deal with creation, destruction and resurrection and the practice of radical mercy. This will be the focus of our feasts, studies, contemplative practice and liturgical arts.
Beginning the First Sunday of Advent, December 1st, 2019
