Musical guest: Bob Douglas

Date: November 3, 2019
Time: 5:36 pm  to  6:36 pm

Texas-born Bob Douglas has lived in Minnesota since his college days. During that time, he played with acoustic ensembles and jug bands, performing at coffeehouses on Minneapolis’ fabled West Bank. Music became a full-time vocation in Germany when he teamed up with a Canadian group called The String Band, completing three European tours and two recording projects. In the early years of A Prairie Home Companion, Bob did mandolin duties, harmony singing, and played spoons on the show with the Powdermilk Biscuit Band and then with PHC’s first national house band, the New Prairie Ramblers. Bob was an integral member of the Blood Washed Band at our very own House of Mercy. Currently Bob performs with the Irish group Captain Kaliber, in duos with both Pop Wagner and Adam Granger.
