In the midst of the crumbling Empire, Benedict, the son of a noble family 
left Rome and walked into the wilderness in search of a way to live a life of meaning and peace. A decade later he had established a growing monastic community committed to real prayer, good work, absolute welcoming, and radical mercy and gratitude. In preparation for our own crumbling empire, this study will explore the history and practice of Benedict’s Rule.
