First Friday Showcase at Gingko Coffee in St. Paul 7pm

Date:
Time: 7:35 pm

House of Mercy Recordings has now released 32 recordings—from Charlie Parr to the Blood Washed Band to Duke Otherwise to the Urban Hillbilly Quartet…and many others—and we’ve decided to start a regular showcase for our artists. The first Friday of each month we’ll gather at Ginkgo Coffee in St. Paul to hear some of the artists whose music we love and have released.

This month we’ll be hearing from:

Erik Brandt

– Ringleader of the Urban Hillbilly Quartet and a local & regional coffeehouse and club presence for years, Erik Brandt will be playing his original Americana tunes on piano, accordion and guitar. Erik has several releases on House of Mercy Recordings and is featured on many other recordings.

Noah Riemer

– Frontman of the Wisconsin based folk-pop geniuses, Ticklepenny Corner, Noah plays a virtuosic guitar, sings witty and touching songs and is always a stellar showman. These days he mostly plays under the children’s musician pseudonym “Duke Otherwise,” so tonight will be a rare chance to hear him playing from his rich back catalog of songs for grownups. Noah is featured on House of Mercy Recordings as Duke Otherwise and as a drummer on several UHQ and Erik Brandt recordings.

Gregory Gainsborough

Gregory is a California-based musician and songwriter whose evocative songs explore relationships, magic and spirituality. Gregory is a relentless searcher—for ideas, for melodies and for new adventures. He will bring this spirit with him to tonight’s showcase. Gregory is featured on several House of Mercy Recordings releases as the bassist for the UHQ.
