Year B of the Lectionary cycle focuses on the Gospel of Mark. Because of the nature of this Gospel howev er (there is no birth narrative, no post-resurection appearances, it ends in desertion, a lot of seemingly dark stuff....) the lectionary makers do use a lot of Mark, skipping a lot of the seemingly dark stuf, and inserting John or Luke to fill out the calendar. At HOM, we think it is valuable to read the whole book; so we have decided in 2006 to follow an All Mark Lectionary. Both the Revised Common and the All Mark are included hear. |
